Exclusive Taylor Hicks Photos & mp3s! OK, OK, so ... I played bass in a great college band with American Idol contestant Taylor Hicks. Althought I disagree with the show on so many levels, I have never known a more born-into-sould singer who deserves to be heard. I didn't realize it at the time, but he was such an influence on me. Never heard anyone sing with that much heart & grit. Good luck Taylor, wherever it leads you. -- SJ click photos to enlarge! mp3s clips of Passing Through & Taylor Hicks: In Your Time (1997 T.H. on vocals & harmonica) The Fall (T.H. Los Angeles City Beat on The Peter Case Tribute:
"There are too many strong performances here to enumerate them all, and everyone will have their own favorites. Here are mine: Lester Chamberss Stax-style Walking Home Late, Chris Smithers icy Cold Trail Blues, Joe Elys gutsy Put Down the Gun, James McMurtrys rolling Old Part of Town, Claire Holleys glowing Two Angels, Steven Jacksons gospelized Crooked Mile."
HOME FROM THE FIGHT
is an earthy, nostalgic departure from his last record with the guitar-driven band The leavers.
HFTF is quirky and ... dare we say? ... romantic.
