Brighter Things for Steven Jackson

Well, I haven't been keeping this site up so much lately as I've been posting lots of this news to the Brighter Things Facebook page. Here are some highlights (and you can get the whole story (with photos and such) over at the social media giant.

1. The new record will be released under the band name "The Brighter Things"

2. Amazing folks collaborating on the CD: Bassist Sean Hurley (John Mayer, Verical Horizon), Eric Heywood (Ray LaMontagne, Son Volt) on pedal steel, others announced shortly

3. Time is getting short if you'd like to donate to the record project and get your name in the liner notes / get some free stuff

Making the CD

It's been 6 years since I released my last CD "Home From the Fight." I'm thrilled to say I'll be headed to Los Angeles to work with producer Rob Seals - to begin fighting the good fight again.

I've got a group of about 30 songs to whittle down and a group of amazing musicians to collaborate with (you'll know some of them).

I'm feeling overwhelmed that this non-musical, family-centered, journey I've been on for the past 5 years has given back in the form of songs I am so excited for you to hear.

I'll begin recording "The Wake Up" June 11th and will post tenative dates for release, blogs, video & audio shortly.

Thank you all so much for revisiting and for all the emails, calls & prodding while I was hibernating.
